Cosmetic Dentistry

You lead a busy life. Your time is precious. You demand excellence. We understand, and for over 25 years, Dr. Hayslip has pampered patients and provided the latest techniques in cosmetic dentistry in Warner Robins.

By staying up-to-date on newer, more recent procedures, such as ZOOM!® teeth whitening, Durathin® prepless veneers, digital x-rays and total smile design, Dr. Hayslip provides comprehensive cosmetic, restorative, and general dentistry services with exciting comforts and conveniences, including oral sedation. We also offer an array of other services for total smile beauty, including Botox® Cosmetic.

Teeth naturally darken as we age (thus why white teeth appear more “youthful”). Dark beverages such as colas, tea, coffee or red wine can create hard-to-remove stains on teeth. In some cases, tooth discoloration is related to childhood use of certain antibiotics during the developmental stages of permanent teeth. And, not only is smoking a health risk, it causes ugly brown and yellow staining.

Professional teeth whitening is convenient, safe, economical and can dramatically change a smile. Whitening procedures can help remove old stains and lighten other discolorations in tooth enamel to enhance smile appearance. Professional in-office teeth whitening with ZOOM!® allows us to lighten your teeth by several shades in about an hour.

  • We begin by recording your starting tooth shade.
  • Your gums are covered using a protective paint-on plastic material to isolate the teeth.
  • Whitening gel is applied to the front surfaces of the teeth and then activated using a light specifically designed to interact with gel ingredients to break through old stains and whiten tooth surfaces.
  • We repeat this process two to three times while you relax in the dental chair.
  • In about an hour, we remove the covering and compare your new shade – often many shades lighter than your beginning shade!

Get the bright, white smile you want.

Porcelain dental veneers are thin, custom-shaped, highly polished porcelain facings that adhere to teeth to enhance their appearance. Veneers can usually be applied with minimal drilling or tooth preparation. Because extensive removal of the tooth structure is not necessary, veneers are often used to address cosmetic challenges in otherwise healthy teeth, such as closing gaps, or to restore contour and shape to worn teeth to create a more youthful appearance.

The Beauty of Porcelain

Porcelain veneers are individually designed for you, making it nearly impossible to tell the difference between a veneer and your natural tooth. We work with our laboratory specialists to customize the shade, translucency and shape of your veneers to ensure the most beautiful result.

Durable esthetic porcelain is more resistant to staining from beverages such as tea, coffee and wine than your natural teeth, so you always have a bright, beautiful smile!

The Smile Design Process

In designing your porcelain restoration, Dr. Hayslip will work closely with you to discuss goals for your smile, and create a plan to arrive at the size, shape and shade that best compliments your other natural teeth. Sometimes in this phase we will recommend teeth whitening to lighten your other teeth, and then match your porcelain restoration to your new, brighter shade.

Our office is pleased to offer DURAthin® Veneers, which have the same advantages of porcelain veneers with no drilling. These super-thin veneers (0.2-0.4mm) are incredibly strong once bonded to your teeth. It may be possible to design, fabricate and place your veneers in as few as two visits.

Dental Crowns are full coverage restorations for teeth that have become structurally weakened by decay, broken-down fillings or trauma. A tooth with a large filling, root canal or fracture is in danger of breaking, or falling out altogether. With the help of a dental crown, a damaged tooth can easily be saved, restoring the tooth’s natural function and appearance.

Dental Bridges are used to replace one or more missing teeth. A bridge is anchored on either end by attaching to existing healthy tooth structures or dental implants. It supports single or multiple crowns to restore the area so you can bite and smile with confidence.

CEREC® Same-Day Dentistry

No more impressions, no more temporaries, no more waiting!

Using patented CEREC® CAD-CAM technology, Dr. Hayslip is able to prepare, design and deliver a custom dental crown in a single appointment. CEREC® employs 3D digital imaging tools, so no more messy dental impressions! One-visit crowns also mean no annoying temporaries, because there is no waiting. You leave our office with a beautiful ceramic crown that matches your natural teeth.

How CEREC® works:

CEREC® uses CAD/CAM (Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing) technology, incorporating a camera, computer and milling machine in one instrument.

  • A special camera takes an accurate picture of the complete damaged tooth structure.
  • This optical impression is transferred and displayed digitally on screen, where your dentist uses CAD technology to design the custom restoration.
  • Then CAM takes over and automatically creates the restoration while you wait.
  • Finally, your dentist bonds the new restoration to the surface of the old tooth.

Proven Technology

With two decades of clinical research and more than 20 million restorations performed worldwide, CEREC® has proven to be a an effective, safe and convenient technology that we are delighted to offer to our patients.

Everyone deserves a beautiful smile! Current materials and techniques in cosmetic dentistry allow us to not only change the appearance of your teeth, they offer the added benefit of restoring health and function to your smile in the process.

Cosmetic dental bonding procedures are ideal for repairing minor chips or flaws, small areas of decay and concealing spaces between teeth. They require very little tooth preparation or drilling, and are applied using etchant and pliable plastic materials designed to adhere the restoration using a special curing light process. While not as durable or long-lasting as crowns or porcelain veneers, bonding can be an economical cosmetic solution for:

  • Discolored teeth
  • Chipped or worn teeth
  • Abnormally shaped teeth
  • A tooth that is shorter than your other teeth
  • Closing gaps between teeth

Tooth-Colored Fillings

Tooth-colored “white” fillings are made of composite resin material and are available in a number of natural-looking shades to match existing teeth. They are non-metallic and mercury-free, and many have fluoride-releasing properties. Composite fillings can be a great solution for repairing areas of decay.

Have you ever wanted to close a small space between your teeth, move a tooth slightly or straighten all your teeth to improve your smile? Invisalign® clear orthodontics offers a convenient and effective treatment option for crowded, crooked or misaligned teeth. Invisalign® gradually moves your teeth through a series of custom-made, removable, nearly invisible aligners. No metal brackets or wires!

How Invisalign® works:

The Invisalign® process employs a series of clear plastic aligners that are designed specifically for your teeth. The aligners are worn over the teeth to apply gentle pressure and achieve pre-calculated movement through daily wear.

Invisalign® treatment time is about a year for adults; although this varies with each case. During this period, we schedule short follow-up appointments every few weeks at our Warner Robins dental office to monitor your progress and exchange aligners to accomplish continued teeth movement.

With Invisalign®, you don’t have to give up the foods you love, or fuss with cleaning metal brackets or wires. The clear aligners are virtually undetectable and are easily removed for cleaning or eating your favorite foods.

Botox® Cosmetic

Cosmetic dentistry treatments such as porcelain veneers and dental bonding are nicely complimented by smoother skin and fuller lips. Botox® Cosmetic services can be used in conjunction with these treatments to complete your smile. Botox® has also entered the forefront of dentistry for use in treatment of pain and symptoms related to TMJ and bruxism (teeth grinding), non-surgical adjustment of lip lines and a transition solution for new denture-wearers.

When it comes to facial esthetics, dental therapeutics and cosmetic dentistry, your dentist is the logical choice, as it requires a full understanding of dental esthetics and the physiology of the gingiva (gum tissue) and lip muscles to achieve positive, controlled results.

Are you interested in trying Botox® Cosmetic? Schedule a procedure with your next regular hygiene appointment or in combination with other services.
